As in every case of cancer, if it’s discovered early enough, the survival rate is 90 percent more than in those people who discover it in phase 3 or later.
Unfortunately, symptoms in this type of cancer occur very rarely. We begin to notice symptoms after the cancer has spread on to other organs except the stomach.
Stomach cancer is also known as gastric cancer and it is a slow growing disease. Scientist don’t know exactly what causes the growth of cancer cells in the stomach, but here are few things that could increase the risk of getting them:
- Getting infected with a H. pylori bacteria
- Gastritis
- Long-lasting anemia
- Polyps growing in the stomach

- Heartburn and/or indigestion
- Loss of appetite
- Bloated stomach after meals
- Fatigue
- Diarrhea
- Constipation
- Vomiting and nausea
- Pain in the abdomen
- Having a bloody stool
- Losing weight without changing anything in your diet
- Discomfort above the navel
- Anemia
